KUALA LUMPUR: The OCE participates in the Malaysia-France Convention on Higher Education, Research and Innovation
From October 18 to 20, 2023, the Office for Climate Education (OCE) will be in Kuala Lumpur as part of the first edition of the Congress on Higher Education, Research and Innovation organized by the Embassy of France in Malaysia, Campus France and the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
This event will bring together more than 200 government, associative and economic actors,along with 93 speakers to discuss current and future areas of cooperation in education between France and Malaysia.
The program includes 3 days of opening speeches, round tables, workshops, special sessions, and exchange between institutions. On this occasion, David Wilgenbus, executive director of the OCE, will lead a presentation entitled: “Climate change education: global opportunity, local challenge.” This intervention aims to understand the issues and importance of climate change education while highlighting the OCE and its actions through the prism of the ALEC (Latin America for Climate Education) pilot project. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of educating teachers and trainers about climate change and the need to create a new narrative around climate action.
